Audi is happy to report that its SUV models are selling very well this year. Since the beginning of 2018, the German car maker has delivered approximately 287,500 models from its Q crossover and SUV lineup, which translates into 36.6 percent of its total sales. By 2025, the brand estimates that SUVs will become the most important sector for Audi, accounting for more than 50 percent of its deliveries. Everyone’s wondering what would a Google-branded vehicle be like. And it turns out that Waymo won’t be spending millions spending billions on assembly plants and the development of its own vehicles and platforms. The company is partnering with automakers to use their cars and trucks to showcase its technology brand and develop a lineup of vehicles. The brand-building approach takes a page from the old Saleen and Shelby works, tuners and stylists of limited-edition, high-performance vehicles based on Ford Mustangs and pickups. But it's a more democratic version of that concept. T...
Just like we have previously reported you, April wasn’t the best month for major automakers. Ford, Nissan, Fiat Chrysler and even Toyota have presented low car sales data, and here it comes Subaru with the best April in its history. The gain is entirely attributable to the Crosstrek, which is all-new for 2018. Sales of the compact, raised crossover climbed almost 70 percent for the month to 12,266. Year to date, Subaru has sold 45,728 Crosstreks, an increase of 66.6 percent. That helped push Subaru's total U.S. sales to 53,170 in April and 202,873 fo...
Ford Motor announced Wednesday that it’s killing sedans from its U.S. dealerships, exception making only its legendary Mustang. By saying good buy to Focus, Fusion, Fiesta, and Taurus, it will double down on trucks and sports utilities. The Focus nameplate will stick around, only in the form of a crossover utility. Ford is not alone, though. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles already cut the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200, focusing on more profitable Jeep SUVs and Ram pickups. General Motors has been reducing its sedan production, also, cutting back on its Cruze compact production. C...
Ford said on Wednesday that the only passenger cars that it plans to keep on the North American market will be the Mustang and the upcoming Ford Focus Active which is a crossover-like hatchback that is due in 2019. That means that the regular Focus, Fiesta, Taurus, and Fusion won’t be available in the United States and Canada. Ford will continue to offer its full spectrum of SUVs, trucks, and crossovers. By 2020, almost 90 percent of Ford’s portfolio in North America will be trucks, utilities, and commercial vehicles. The car manufacturer is exploring new vehicle models ...
