    08 Feb 2018

It seems like Nissan isn’t doing as great as we thought. Its sales went down due to high costs from improper final inspection procedures at home and higher discounts in the U.S.. Nissan's quarterly operating profit was 82.4 billion yen ($752 million) between October and December, down from 163.51 billion a year earlier. The automaker took a 39.6 billion yen hit in the quarter due to costs related to improper procedures for final inspections on vehicles produced at its Japan plants, while U.S. marketing and sales expenses, which include incentives, cost the automak...

  • Ford Focus RS finally gets a recall
    24 Jan 2018

Ford is recalling 2016-2017 Focus RS hatchbacks with potentially faulty head gaskets. The automaker claims they will be replaced free of charge. While the fix is estimated to take less than two days for each vehicle, Ford is offering to pay the cost of a rental vehicle for up to four days if needed.   The affected vehicles may emit noticeable white smoke from the exhaust or show low coolant levels with no sign of external leaks due to the failing head gaskets. Model years 2016 and 2017 Focus RS models built from Aug. 3, 2015 to July 6, 2017 are involved in this recall. Ford plans on ...

The company said the flaw, caused by a part...

  • Dealers ask for a compensation for recalled cars
    19 Dec 2017

Recalled vehicles are increasingly landing on dealers, but automakers aren't required to compensate them for lost revenue and extra expenses. Dealers are counting on state lawmakers to change that. Even though stop-sales usually affect just a fraction of a dealership's used-cars inventory.          There is no law to adress the problem on used vehicles under a stop-sell recall, but Federal law requires automakers to give monthly payments equal to 1 percent of the value of any new car that can't be sold because of a recall.     ...
