  • Toyota and Lexus rank the top 2 brands for reliability again
    19 Oct 2017

Based on costumer reports Toyota and Lexus rank the top 2 brands for reliability for the fifth year in a row. The rankings of the remaining 25 brands reflect a game of musical chairs, however. Consumer Reports' 2017 Auto Reliability Survey found "growing pains" among automakers with new and updated cars and light trucks, with "wonky" engines and "jerky" eight- and nine-speed and continuously variable transmissions, as well as infotainment systems, among the top problems.  The magazine said its survey shows some but not all automakers are quick to res...

  • Facebook won't make cars, Sandberg says
    14 Sep 2017

Facebook, the world’s biggest social network doesn’t want to compete with automakers, at least that’s what Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer says. She said it with charm and in a bit of a funny manner, mentioning that Facebook is the only company in Silicon Valley that’s not building cars.  But Facebook is sponsoring a "new mobility world" at the Frankfurt show that brings together carmakers, tech companies and start-ups in areas such as autonomous driving and electric cars. Sandberg's visit to Germany comes after the coun...

The rate of injury-inducing crashes decreases 21 percent with the technology.  The lane departure warning study included crashed General Motors, Honda, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Subaru and Volvo vehicles produced between 2009 and 2015. • Overall U.S. auto sales fell 7% this July
    01 Aug 2017

As automakers are doing their best to get rid off too much inventory, buyers can expect sweeter deals on small and mid-size cars. This July wasn’t expected to be a good month for US car sales but at the same time, the data are not so bad. Overall auto sales fell 7% from a year earlier to 1.42 million vehicles.  Buyers will eventually have fewer choices of passenger cars as automakers shift more of their engineering resources into crossovers, SUVs and pickups. Average discounts per vehicle rose 5% to about $3,600, compared with a year earlier. Meanwhile, transaction prices ...
