It was back in 2011 when the Nissan Juke launched in the US. Many did not know what to make of the funky-looking small crossover with its frog eye-like front-end design and, at the time, unusual proportions. In 2018 just about everywhere one goes a Juke can be spotted on the road. Automotive News reports that Nissan has officially dropped the subcompact Juke crossover from its American lineup. Sales were down last year by 48 percent, compared to 2016. Its replacement is the all-new Nissan Kicks. Americans haven’t quite taken to the Juke in nearly the same enthusiastic manner a...
Nissan is promoting the Leaf electric car by going to the last place you would see one, a gas station. Actually, Nissan is going to multiple gas stations in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states, and the promotion involves giving people free gasoline. Nissan will "take over" gas stations and give away gasoline to people that come. The company will also have a Leaf on display. Isn't it an unusual marketing move? We don’t know how did the automaker make this decision, whether it was pressured by Donald Trump who wants USA automakers to invest in the country more, or it was just a decision took on their own. The investments were in the works well before Trump took office, however. Ford announced plans to upgrade some of its Michigan plants in November 2015 as part of a new contract with the United auto Workers union. Ford Americas Pre...
Toyota has lots of headaches this time with the potential deadly airbags. After it has recalled approximately six million more vehicles worldwide over defective Takata air bag inflators, bringing the total number of vehicles recalled to more than 23 million, it had to face another problem. A California woman died last month because of the faulty inflators- and it's one of the eleven victims in the U.S.. Used car dealers can sell vehicles with open safety recalls legally, even though many consumers may be unaware of the cars’ dangers. But now one dealership owner is taking ...
