  • General Motors is laying off 2000 workers
    09 Nov 2016

Bad news don't come alone, so as the car sales decline from month to month, General Motors said it will lay off 2,000 workers because of slowing car sales even as it makes new investments in its plants.  GM said it plans to cut the third shift at its Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant in Michigan and Lordstown Assembly Plant in Ohio in January because sales of cars made at those plants are declining. The automaker assembles the Cadillac ATS and CTS and the Chevrolet Camaro at its plant in Lansing and makes the Chevrolet Cruze at its plant in Lordstown. GM had a slight increase in...

  • Toyota and Nissan admit: The US car market is at the peak!
    08 Nov 2016

Toyota has finally cut its forecast for North American car sales by 60,000 automobiles this year, and it's the first time when it revealed what expectations it has for US's car market. The automaker is convinced that a decline is inevitable. As American consumers shift away from fuel sippers like the Prius Hybrid and toward trucks and sport utility vehicles. Nissan Motor Co., which posted a drop in profit as it gave heftier incentives that buoyed deliveries, said it’s not seeing room for further expansion.  The executive vice president of Toyota admitted that the car sa...

  • US electric car sales continue to trend up
    07 Nov 2016

Despite many buyers holding out for a coming Chevy Bolt and Tesla Model 3, US electric car sales are doing great. Based on sales estimates for Tesla models (since Tesla doesn’t break out sales by month or by country), the Model S dropped to #2 and the Model X held onto #3 in the US car market, while the Chevy Volt rose to #1. However, if you look at how close sales of these models are and take into account that Tesla delivered ~3,000 more Model S sedans in the US, it’s hard to know how the top 3 ranking actually plays out.  After the top 3, though, there’s a signifi...

From the moment EVs made their debut in U.S. till nowadays, plug-in hybrids have made a long way. Just by seeing the glorious results made by introducing Tesla's Model S to the car market, we can make a conclusion on how much the industry was able to change within 6 years. • Ford has already launched early 'Black Friday' clearance sale!
    02 Nov 2016

Ford Motor Co., looking to bounce back from a 12% sales decline in October, has launched a Black Friday clearance sale several weeks before those sales typically take place. The automaker is offering $1,000 “Black Friday Cash” rebates on 2016 and 2017 model-year vehicles, in addition to other offers. For years, automakers didn’t aggressively participate in Black Friday merchandising, instead relying on year-end clearances. In addition to tagging its sale as a Black Friday promotion, Ford is also calling the sale a “year-end event.”  A spate of Black Frid...
