The plan extends a service action that began in March on compact cars and also included V-class vans. Germany’s Transport Ministry declined immediately to comment on the recall. Daimler executives last week were summoned to attend...
FCA says it is recalling 1.33 million vehicles worldwide in two separate campaigns for potential fire risks and inadvertent airbag deployments. The automaker said it is recalling about 770,000 SUVs because of a wiring issue that may lead to inadvertent deployment of the driver-side airbag and is linked to reports of five related minor injuries, but no crashes. The company said wiring could chafe against pieces of steering-wheel trim, potentially causing a short-circuit and ultimately leading to an inadvertent airbag deployment. The recall covers 538,000 2011-2015 Dodge Journey vehi...

Sales of BMW brand vehicles rose 2 percent to 192,873 last month, while third-placed Audi saw sales rise 1 percent to 170,650. Through June, Mercedes sold ...

At least 17 deaths and 180 injuries worldwide are now tied to the defect that prompted the largest ever auto safety recall and led Takata to file for bankruptcy protection last month. Honda Motor Co. on Monday confirmed an 11th U.S. death involving one of its vehicles tied to a faulty Takata Corp. airbag inflator. The Japanese automaker said the incident occurred in Florida in June 2016 when an individual was working on repairs on a 2001 Honda Accord and the airbag ruptured. Takata inflators can explode with excessive force, unleashing metal shrapnel inside cars and trucks.&nb...
