  • Ford Recalls 350,000 Trucks and SUVs for Transmission Issue
    10 Apr 2018

Ford is making two safety recalls to fix some mechanical issues that affect the control of the transmission on several 2017 and 2018 models. The manufacturer is aware of one reported injury-causing accident related to the first and largest recall.  This safety recall will affect almost 350,00 pickups and SUVs made in 2018. They want to fix a potentially unseated gear shift cable locking clip which can set the transmission in a different gear state than the one that the driver selects. That means the vehicle could move even when in parking mode, with no warning message on the da...

  • Ford Escape Failed Passenger Safety Test
    04 Apr 2018

Ford Escape SUV was rated “poor” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for the new passenger side front crash test. Ford Escape was the only small SUV that failed.  This test is the opposite of the driver’s side test that this institute is doing for five years now. The idea behind the test is to replicate an accident where the vehicle collides with an object with just the passenger’s side.  Wh...

Some of them may be even unconscious or trapped inside the car.  But starting April 1st, 2018, the drivers in Europe don't have to worry about these things anymore because all the new cars will have to be equipped with eCall, a technology through which the cars will call the police themselves. According to a law that was passed in 2015, all the automobile manufacturers will be required to equip their vehicles with eCall technology. It i...

  • Tesla Model X involved in a fatal crash was driving on Autopilot
    02 Apr 2018

Tesla said on Friday, 30th March 2018 that Tesla Model X that was involved in a fatal crash in California last week had to activate its Autopilot system. Tesla also mentioned that the logs from the accident showed that the driver did not take any action before the crash occurred despite all the warnings to put his hands on the wheel.  The driver had about five seconds and 150 meters of unobstructed view of the concrete divider with the crushed crash attenuator, but the vehicle logs show that he did not take any action. Tesla did not mention why the Autopilot system did not detec...

  • Cars most likely to be involved in accidents
    18 May 2017

According to the National Safety Council, there are more than 27,000 car accidents each and every day in the United States. Nobody is seriously injured in the majority of these crashes, but the vehicles definitely sustain damage, and not all of that damage is reported to insurance agencies or repaired. In most cases accident damage is "typically reported by an insurance agency or body shop," while other times "visible paintwork or damage was highlighted by an inspector, but un-flagged by a vehicle history report." Here is the list of the vehicles most likely to be involved ...
