    President Donald Trump has the intention to put a 25 percent tariff on imports of cars under a similar authority that allowed him to slap duties on imports of steel and aluminum in order to protect U.S. national security, a senior administration official has confirmed.  The Commerce Department, at Trump’s request, on Wednesday launched an investigation into the national threat of imported automobiles, trucks and auto parts, this being the first step toward imposing the tariffs.   • BMW Recalls 300,000 Cars That Risk Stalling

    Hundred of thousands of BMW owners found out that their cars may have the same fault as the one that caused a death in a crash in 2016. The carmaker issued a recall which affects around 312, 00 UK vehicles after a BBC investigation showed the scale of the problem.  The affected models are BMW 1 Series, 3 Series, Z4 and X1 diesel and petrol models that were made between March 2007 and August 2011.   • Houston Car Sales Climbed, Prices Fell in March

    In the first quarter of 2018 new car sales grew by 12.6 percent over the last year as high consumer confidence and low unemployment favored Houston dealerships. Local car dealers sold 22.278 new cars in March, which is more by 6.4 percent over the last year.  However, the average price for a new vehicle fell for the second month in a row to $37,217, which is less by $554 or 1.5 percent.
