The owner and a huge Tesla fan has shared his thoughts on its favorite automaker and Tesla cars, and how his love for Teslas has been destroyed. He could be called as an adopter, since he bought his 892nd Tesla roadster to come off the assembly line in 2010. It had few problems, the motor had to be replaced multiple times. He bought his second Tesla then, and his third one both top-off-the-line Model S sedans. Paying almost $400,000 for the sleek, futuristic automobiles. He loved them at first, and even encouraged his brother to buy one. But at a moment, he simply stopped loving Tesl...
While Tesla Inc is developing a long-haul, electric semi-truck that can drive itself and move in “platoons” that automatically follow a lead vehicle, and is getting closer to testing a prototype, California officials are meeting with the automaker’s officials to talk about its efforts with autonomous trucks. The correspondence and meeting show that Tesla is putting self-driving technology into the electric truck it has said it plans to unveil in September, and is advancing towards real-life tests, potentially moving it forward in a highly competitive area of commer...
General Motors is in trouble again. The company is recalling almost 800,000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks worldwide, because these vehicles could lose steering. The largest U.S. automaker said the 2014 model year trucks could suffer a temporary loss of electric power steering, especially during low-speed turning maneuvers, according to documents disclosed Friday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This car recall includes about 690,000 vehicles in the U.S., 80,000 in Canada and around 25,000 in other markets. GM dealers will refla...
With Tesla Model 3 deliveries beginning, July may be the last month for a while in which the growth of green-car sales in the U.S. can be measured with some sense of accuracy and perspective, as all signs point to a spike in year-over-year growth from here on out. And with that in mind, things didn't look great last month. In fact, year-over-year sales of hybrids and plug-in vehicles were down for the first time this year, falling 9.6 percent from a year earlier to about 37,600 units. Plug-in-vehicle sales remained on the positive side of the ledger, though they slowed to a 16 ...
Despite the good promotion and ecstatic headlines about the new Tesla Model 3, the car hasn’t managed yet to become number 1, the green market is still being dominated by its big sister Model S. The Chevy Bolt, with a record sales month, took the #2 spot, inching out my estimate for the Model X. After that, the plug-in hybrid Toyota Prius Prime and Chevy Volt round out the top 5. Despite the addition of some extremely quick competitors on its track, the Nissan LEAF landed a healthy monthly sales total — still well above 1,000 cars a month — to take the #6 spot. Aft...
