Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said Tuesday it is recalling 494,000 medium and heavy-duty Ram pickup trucks, model years 2013-2017. The issue which caused this recall is that they could overheat and potentially cause a fire. The 2013-2017 model year Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups recalled have 6.7-liter diesel engines, including 443,000 vehicles in the United States. Average fuel economy is up 5.2 mpg since October 2007, the first month researchers Michael Sivak and Brandon Schoettle monitored the market, but down 0.2 mpg from the peak of 25.5 mpg reached in August 2014. Year-over-year U.S. light-vehicle sales slid 1.8 percent in August, with car deliveries descending 9.5 percen.
