Almost 500,000 heavy-duty Ram pickup trucks recalled by the automaker

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said Tuesday it is recalling 494,000 medium and heavy-duty Ram pickup trucks, model years 2013-2017. The issue which caused this recall is that they could overheat and potentially cause a fire.


 

The 2013-2017 model year Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups recalled have 6.7-liter diesel engines, including 443,000 vehicles in the United States. Fiat Chrysler said it is not aware of any injuries related to the issue, but has reports of a small number of fire-related incidents. The company will inspect and potentially replace the water pump.

 


 

Shares of Fiat Chrysler were up over 1 percent in midday trading Tuesday, but we think that this recall could affect the company for the future months, and will bring to not so good sales.
