    As automakers are doing their best to get rid off too much inventory, buyers can expect sweeter deals on small and mid-size cars. This July wasn’t expected to be a good month for US car sales but at the same time, the data are not so bad. Overall auto sales fell 7% from a year earlier to 1.42 million vehicles.  Buyers will eventually have fewer choices of passenger cars as automakers shift more of their engineering resources into crossovers, SUVs and pickups.   • BMW aims to electrify all brands and model lines

    BMW has officially announced that it plans to produce a fully electric version of the three-door hatchback Mini. The car will go into production in 2019, and the battery electric drivetrain will be produced at BMW's Bavarian facilities, then transported to Plant Oxford where it will join the cars.
