    The Renault-Nissan alliance emerged as the world’s biggest seller of light vehicles in 2017, bumping Volkswagen off the top spot, after the inclusion of Mitsubishi's numbers boosted its final tally. The group sold vehicles in nearly 200 countries under 10 brands, led by China, the U.S., France and Japan.   • Ford Focus RS finally gets a recall

    Ford is recalling 2016-2017 Focus RS hatchbacks with potentially faulty head gaskets. The automaker claims they will be replaced free of charge. While the fix is estimated to take less than two days for each vehicle, Ford is offering to pay the cost of a rental vehicle for up to four days if needed.   The affected vehicles may emit noticeable white smoke from the exhaust or show low coolant levels with no sign of external leaks due to the failing head gaskets.
