Lyft takes one step further in the race with several other companies to bring self-driving cars to the masses by obtaining the permission to test autonomous vehicles in California. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Friday it was rejecting a petition by Ford to delay recall of about 3 million cars with potentially defective Takata airbag inflators.
