Just imagine what you’d feel like if you buy a car you simply adore, and then all of a sudden you realize this car belongs to someone else? Pretty weird huh? Well, that’s eaxctly what happened to Kristin Ellenson who loves everything about her 2012 Cadillac SRX, from the satiny silver paint job and sporty styling to the leather upholstery and wood-trimmed interior. She and her husband, Jim, bought the luxury sport-utility vehicle used from a car dealership in November 2015, but within a week of bringing it home they realized they had a big problem: The Corvallis car deal...
U.S. light vehicles from the 2016 model year will be the first to fall short of federal fuel economy targets in more than a decade, according to a new projection from regulators that could buttress a push by automakers to ease efficiency standards. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration forecasts that 2016 models will average 32.1 miles per gallon, below the target of 32.8. The agency forecasts another shortfall in model year 2017 of 31.8 miles per gallon compared to a projected target of 33. We were expecting for car sales to calm down in February, but despite all the expectations and predictions we were still hoping for better results. Bad news, U.S. auto sales showed to be even less resilient this month than anticipated. If we have to compare these results with February last year, than they are down 1.1%. Automakers like General Motors (GM), American Honda Motor Co., and Nissan North America reported new-car sales gains from a year ago. Volkswagen Group, plus the premium German nameplates and three independent brands, also posted sales increases. However, Ford Motor Co. (Ford) a...
Pickup trucks are those vehicles used primarily as work but not anymore. It could have happened until the 1950s when consumers used to buy pickups because they needed to use them in work, now they buy them because they love them. The pickup truck is now the top-selling vehicle in the United States. Domestically, the three top-selling vehicles for the month of January are all trucks. The Ford Motor Co. F-Series took the number one spot, with nearly 60,000 vehicles sold last month. Chevrolet Silverado from General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) sold 35,553 vehicles and the Fiat Chrysler Automo...
We’ve had a lot of signs that the electric car market has been rising for a lot of time, and its shares have risen through 2016 even more, but now we know that they shot up by 37%. We’ve got approximately over 30 battery-powered and plug-in hybrids offerings on the market, that’s like 159,139 vehicles for the US. It’s the 70 percent year-over-year increase in monthly sales, which helped build the momentum to stronger overall sales. Of course, the sales jump by 37% comes following a five percent decline in sales from 2014 to 2015. The slight increase has spurr...
