Electric car sales around the world rose by 54 percent in 2017, taking global stock across the three-million threshold, the International Energy Agency said in a report. Ford is recalling 2016-2017 Focus RS hatchbacks with potentially faulty head gaskets. The automaker claims they will be replaced free of charge. While the fix is estimated to take less than two days for each vehicle, Ford is offering to pay the cost of a rental vehicle for up to four days if needed. The affected vehicles may emit noticeable white smoke from the exhaust or show low coolant levels with no sign of external leaks due to the failing head gaskets.
