  • Hyundai and Kia Report 6.7% Growth in U.S. Sales in July
    10 Aug 2016

Hyundai Motor Co. and its smaller affiliate, Kia Motors Corp., saw their combined U.S. sales rise by more than 6 percent in July, thanks in large part to strong sales in sport utility vehicles. The two South Korean auto giants sold 134,972 units in the U.S. market last month, up from 127,324 units in the same month last year, exceeding the country’s automobile industry average growth rate of 5.3 percent.  Hyundai reported that its sales rose 5.6 percent from last year to 75,003 while Kia reported a total of 59,969 units, up 6.4 percent compared with a year ago. • Self-driving cars spur heavy auto deal traffic in places like Silicon Valley
    10 Aug 2016

The total value of automotive supplier deals in 2015 and 2016 was $74.4 billion, according to data compiled by Bloomberg, with each of those years far exceeding the $17.7 billion annual average in the previous 10 years. The driving force behind the wave of consolidation is the pressure to keep up with the shift toward autonomous driving that started about five years ago. Suppliers need the know-how to help cars see their environment much as a human pilot would, which means sensors, cameras and radar, plus the computing power to comprehend the waves of data and share some of it, like traff...

  • US auto sales might reach a peak, but still stay strong!
    10 Aug 2016

There is still much space for the US auto sales to grow. Many car industry leaders have expressed their worries that the six-year expansion is about to lose steam. The analysts believe that the peak has passed, but car makers are still not ready to accept that. The seasonally adjusted, annualized rate of sales, a broad measure of the industry's health, peaked at 18.15 million light vehicles during the current cycle in October 2015. The pent-up demand following 2008-9 downturn has been exhausted, at least that's what economists think. Because of that they have predicted an anticipa...

  • Nissan is priced right for a tough environment
    09 Aug 2016

It's not a secret that the auto sales cycle may be turning stormy. Still, that doesn’t mean it is time to batten down the hatches. For those with a little faith in the future, Nissan Motor looks like a bargain. The U.S. auto sales appear to have downshifted for now. This spells tough times for Japan’s auto makers, which count the U.S. among their biggest markets.  Toyota Motor Corporation is also feeling more profit-sapping pain from the strong yen. This is due to the fact that a large portion of the vehicles it sells in the U.S. are imports from Japan. Honda and Niss...

  • US Porsche sales are doomed to decrease?
    09 Aug 2016

After a strong run in US of Porsche vehicles, an abrupt slow down has come to the company in July, followed of course by low sales. Porsche's sales have fallen 18% the previous month, which was a stagnant moment for the brand. Even the wide range of SUVs like Cayenne and Macan couldn't save the company from this powerful plung.  As it was officially revealed the Porsche cars North America which imports and distributes models like: Boxter, 911, Cayman, Panamera and the two previously named, a bit more than 3870 vehicles were sold in July, that is less than expected. The d...
