More than 71,700 models of Kia Sportage crossovers from U.S. were recalled by Kia Motors America. The affected crossovers are from the 2008 and 2009 model years and were assembled between Aug. 9, 2007, and May 13, 2009. Bad news don't come alone, so as the car sales decline from month to month, General Motors said it will lay off 2,000 workers because of slowing car sales even as it makes new investments in its plants.
