If you don't know how to raise your U.S. market share in 2016, here is the answer – you have to turbocharge fleet sales. Actually, that may be the only way in an increasingly competitive market that has hit a plateau after six years of growth. Fleet activity has defined overall sales winners and losers, according to industry sources that track bulk sales to rental companies and commercial and government buyers. Through September, major players with double-digit fleet increases posted net sales gains. Those that cut back or stood pat on fleet lost overall volume. Analysts ...
Tesla is keeping up with its ever-expanding ambitions, even though it faces lots of obstacles, and has lots of competitors it knows how to build a product, and how to sell it. Its model S sales jumped 59% over the same quarter last year, which means it increases its importance between other luxury cars. The carmaker may keep its sales results confidential, but one thing it still reveals, that Tesla is responsible now in the U.S. for almost a third of sales in the sedans' segment. Its nearest competitors are the newly updated BMW 7-Series and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Spokespeople for...
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV’s U.S. unit failed to persuade a federal judge to throw out an antitrust lawsuit claiming it pushed dealers to submit fraudulent sales numbers to prop up the carmaker’s share price. Two dealerships owned by the Napleton Auto Group, including Napleton’s Arlington Heights Motors in Illinois, originally sued Fiat Chrysler in January, alleging racketeering, violations of antitrust laws and breach of contract. The original suit was never served on FCA and an amended complaint was filed in March. FCA denied the allegations in the suit. U.S. D...
The importer and distributor of Porsche 911, Boxter and Cayman sports cars, Macan, Cayenne SUVs, and the Panamera four-door sports sedan line-up in the United States, reported their September sales results, marking a new record month of all-time, by selling 4,479 models. September 2016 sales are up 1.2% compared to the same month last year. The Macan continues to lead in volume with 1,998 vehicle sales, a 72.2% increase over September 2015. Year-to-date retail sales stand at 40,246 vehicles, up 2.4% compared to last year. Macan deliveries are up 30% year-to-date. Porsche Approv...
As we already know the U.S. car sales continued to soften this September, and are down 0.7% to 1.434m. The totals yielded a surprisingly robust seasonally adjusted annualized rate (SAAR) of 17.76m units, a solid rebound from August's 17.00m. The rate is down about 290,000 sales from last September. Sales are still slightly ahead of the first three quarters of 2015, it means a new annual record is still possible, although the outlook isn't favorable. Even though car manufacturers were running up incentives with about 2.5% compared to September 2015, they were down 0.2% compar...
