  • Rich pickings for used car buyers this March
    22 Mar 2017

This March will be launched new 17 registration plates in the new car market-which means rich pickings for buyers in the used car sector. With the way that many cars are financed these days over a three year term, tens of thousands of models from 2014 will be coming back for specialist dealers to buy for their customers. To keep within the conditions of the finance package these cars will have been serviced every year and will be within the agreed mileage limit. All of which means that now is an excellent time to think about changing your current vehicle for a newer one. March is a good t...

  • Ford F-Series truck sales grew 9% YOY in February 2017
    15 Mar 2017

In February 2017, Ford’s F-Series truck US sales stood at 65,956 units with a YoY increase of ~9%. During the month, the strong demand for the newly launched F-Series Super Duty trucks continued in the company’s Retail segment. As a result, February 2017 was the best month for the company’s F-Series sales in the last 13 years.   This strength was consistent with the robust retail sales performance of F-Series trucks in January 2017. In January 2016, the company sold 57,995 units of F-Series trucks, which was 13% higher on a YoY basis. These strengthening sales of Fo...

  • U.S. 2016 autos trailing fuel goals?
    09 Mar 2017

U.S. light vehicles from the 2016 model year will be the first to fall short of federal fuel economy targets in more than a decade, according to a new projection from regulators that could buttress a push by automakers to ease efficiency standards.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration forecasts that 2016 models will average 32.1 miles per gallon, below the target of 32.8. The agency forecasts another shortfall in model year 2017 of 31.8 miles per gallon compared to a projected target of 33. The U.S. fleet has exceeded industrywide fuel economy targets every year since ...

  • Electric car sales rise in February
    08 Mar 2017

Electric car sales in the U.S. continued their strong showing in February, and that exactly means that despite rumors we’re having another monthly record. The 12,049 plug-ins sold last month translate to roughly a growth rate of 55 percent and plug-ins now stand at a 0.90 percent market share.   The big challenge, though, will be March, since that month in 2016 saw nearly 14,000 sales. The best-selling model so far this year has been the Chevrolet Volt, but a maturing market with a growing number of competitors means the differences between the leaders is pretty small. GM ...

  • Tesla broke its sales record again in 2016
    05 Mar 2017

Tesla doesn’t even surprise us anymore for showing growth year by year. We weer expecting that the automaker will show steadily growth in 2016, and so it did. Nearly 80,000 Tesla cars were bought by consumers in 2016.   Tesla's sales improvements have taken place since it launched its first designed-from-scratch Model S sedan in 2012. In 2015, the Model X SUV was added to the lineup, and the Model S has been progressively improved over the past four years, with the top-end P100D capable of outrunning the fastest, most exotic hypercars in a 0-60 mph sprint. But during the ti...
