This software enables “limp mode” which will allow the driver to safely get off the road while protecting the vehicle from damage incurred by continued use after a fault occurs.
All of the costumers who own the recalled models are advised to schedule service and get the update. You can also resolve the problem temporarily by stopping the vehicle and restarting the engine. All of the affected cars are from the 2015 and 2014 years, Chrysler midsize sedans, Ram ProMaster City small vans, Jeep Renegade, and Cherokee SUV's.
