When it comes to Fiat Chrysler, we all know that the company had amazing run in the U.S., and all of us are pretty convinced. In fact, we know for sure that all of the positive sales have come thanks to Jeep sales. The only problem the brand still has are Fiat models, considering they barely topped 2,500 last month and were down 19%. Don't you consider that the cars are a waste of resources? We even think that these cars may be a huge loss for the brand in the future also, the more it goes the worse.
In the first six months of 2016, 1,152,259 Fiat cars and light trucks were sold in the U.S., which is up for 6% comparing to last year. Jeep accounted for the success with sales of 468,131 up for 17%. In turn sales of the Jeep Compass (48,033 up 80%) and Renegade (52,237 models). Fiat sales for the first six months were 17,735 down by 19%, the same rate as for June. Sales of the Fiat flagship product, dropped 48% to 7,932. Fiat has also been brutalized for bad quality. It was ranked next to last in the J.D. Power 2016 U.S. Initial Quality Study, and in the bottom quarter of the J.D. Power 2016 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study. In the Consumer Reports' 2015 Annual Auto Reliability Survey, “The Fiat Chrysler-brands finished at the bottom again.”
Fiat has good competition in small and light vehicles, three other American brands and Japanese manufacturers. We consider that it's time for the company to make a decision on whether it will keep the cars but will start a new marketing and quality strategy, or concentrate its power on trucks and leave the small vehicles business.
