Probably all of us have already heard about the Nissan's Leaf electric vehicle. The Japanese automaker is currently introducing a hybrid version of the Murano. Taking into account that the number of produced cars is expected to be small, the Murano Hybrid model could become a collector's item.
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certified that the hybrid crossover gets a combined 29 miles per gallon for the front-wheel drive version and 28 mpg for the all-wheel-drive version. The conventional Murano gets 24 mpg in both FWD and AWD. In fact, Nissan does not have terribly high hopes for the demand for the new Murano Hybrid model.
Nissan plans to sell about 600 vehciles in the US this year. The Murano Hybrid was unveiled at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show. The sales in China started shortly thereafter. Hopefully, this time the model will be successfully sold out in the US. The Pathfinder Hybrid sales started in 2013, but stopped last year. The Altima Hybrid sales were also stopped, as the model was discontinued in 2012 after five years of production.
