June Auto Sales Keep It Up Thanks To SUV's and Pickups.

Isn't this year a good one for U.S auto sales? Well, even if many surveys and predictions put the industry under the question “will it work this time”, it seems like we are halfway to another record year. As the first half of the year has finished we've come to get some positive results, the 2016 auto sales are up 1.4% from a year ago. Isn't it a sign that the market is reaching a plateau after rebounding from the depths of recession with six consecutive years of hefty growth?

It's important to notice that considering all the negative expectations every year over year increase is good news. What do we know about Chevrolet and how were things going with the company this month? Well, it posted a 0,1% gain which is better than Hyundai's results because it rose only 0.01%, but even that is great as long as it didn't get losses. As you probably already know the demand for pickups and SUV's is in growth, and we can totally say that this June was their month. Ford has always felt the importance of SUV's and pickups because F-series pickups surged to 29%, making a 0.8% decline for the rest of its lineup. We were highly expecting to see how General Motors and Toyota U.S.A. but both posted their fourth monthly decline of the year. At GM, lifted trucks slid 1.7%, and cars were down 1.3%. While Toyota's light truck sales rose 0.1% amid tight pickup inventories, Toyota topped Fiat Chrysler Automobiles by only 243 vehicles. What can we say about FCA?! Its Jeep Ram sales rose up 14%.

If talking about the overall sales than they rose 2.4% in June. The industry's seasonally adjusted, annualized selling rate came in at 16.68 million, down from 17.46 million in May and 17.01 million a year ago. June marked the seventh consecutive monthly decline for BMW of North America, and Volkswagen Group of America, both of them fell down 12%.

  • BMW Recalls 300,000 Cars That Risk Stalling
    10 May 2018

Hundred of thousands of BMW owners found out that their cars may have the same fault as the one that caused a death in a crash in 2016. The carmaker issued a recall which affects around 312, 00 UK vehicles after a BBC investigation showed the scale of the problem.  The affected models are BMW 1 Series, 3 Series, Z4 and X1 diesel and petrol models that were made between March 2007 and August 2011. Narayan Gurung died on Christmas Day 2016 when he crashed into a tree in Hampshire while swerving to avoid a BMW which stalled due to an electrical fault. An investigation by BBC Watchdog, t...

  • Diesel Cars VS Electric Cars
    17 May 2019

Between loyal customers and car dealers lie an important dilemma that begs for an answer - What is the future of diesel cars and electric vehicles? Today at RepoKar, we are ready to tackle this predicament.Auto manufacturers and the combustible industries have often mentioned the idea that electric cars are worse for the environment than diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles because they are powered by dirty electricity. If we want to talk about fuel efficiency, noise pollution, and air quality, then EVs are clearly the outright winner. But if we're talking about torque or initial price, the...

  • Fire Risk: BMW Recalls 185,000 Cars TODAY
    19 Apr 2019

The recall expansion covers 3 Series, 5 Series and Z4 models from the 2006 model year. The problem has been traced to irregularities in the manufacturing process that could allow moisture to occur near the PCV valve heater and lead to a short circuit. The PCV valve is an emissions device that keeps pollutants created by an engine from being released into the atmosphere. It also helps keep the engine oil clean and prevents crankcase pressure from building up. BMW warns its customers to stop driving the vehicle if there is smoke coming from the engine, or if the driver smells smoke or plast...
