It was reported that 164.063 Mercedes vehicles were sold this April worldwide, which is more than last year's April for approximately 11%. The first four months of the year sold around 650.000 units, which is definitely a good record for the company.
This April is considered to be the 38th consecutive record month for Mercedes-Benz sales. The company sales grew up to 11% thanks to strong delivers in Europe and China, which helped offset flat demand in the U.S.
Ola Kaellenius, the sales chief of Mercedes sales said the company had a good start to the second quarter because 5 new markets had been launched. Mercedes also has launched some new models of convertible cars: SL, S-Class Cabriolet and SLC in addition to the E class model.
This April, in Europe Mercedes sales grew to 73.070-14%, 25.777 units from these were sold in Germany, which means delivers in Germany rose up to 11%. The sales in China have grew up to 32%-35.625 cars. Comparing to these countries U.S. sales were a bit flat, it grew up for only 0,2%-29.236 vehicles.
Together Mercedes and Smart cars sales jumped up to 11% in April, four-month registrations were up 13%-695.091 cars. The launches of ForTwo and ForFour helped on achieving these good results with its 10% global growth. In April, Smart sales were up to 20%-47.541 cars.
