As it was revealed after, US markets didn't do much in Friday's trading session. Weakness in US retail sales is already being felt, from an economic perspective the retail sales data wasn't to healthy. Sales for the month of July were flat, against expectations of a 0.4% gain. Excluding car sales, retail spending dropped 0.3%. The US car market looks like is betting it will never get to the end of it. There are always reasons for “data-dependent” to hold off. Hyundai Motor Co. and its smaller affiliate, Kia Motors Corp., saw their combined U.S. sales rise by more than 6 percent in July, thanks in large part to strong sales in sport utility vehicles. The two South Korean auto giants sold 134,972 units in the U.S. market last month, up from 127,324 units in the same month last year, exceeding the country’s automobile industry average growth rate of 5.3 percent. The analysts believe that the peak has passed, but car makers are still not ready to accept that. The seasonally adjusted, annualized rate of sales, a broad measure of the industry's health, peaked at 18.15 million light vehicles during the current cycle in October 2015. The pent-up demand following 2008-9 downturn has been exhausted, at least that's what economists think. Because of that they have predicted an anticipa...
It seems like the energy independence is getting stronger in the US car market. The leading company that has brought this modernization into the country is Tesla Motors. There are of course and other companies which had positive impact on the hybrid-cars sales like Chevrolet. This July can be called a memorable month for green cars thanks to the 48% surge, mostly on Tesla vehicles, but we need to not forget also about Chevy Volt, BMW i3, Ford Fusion Energi and Chevy Spark EV. Other EV models have also felt a powerful sales growth, but even so their volumes are smaller than the ...
