For more than a half year now Volkswagen has been under the fire and we know the reason of such an act pretty well. The company was lying to its buyers for years and the full emissions scandal has finally exploded this winter. After it was obligated to pay settlement to owners and huge taxes that reach approximately $15 billion, maybe it wanted to forget about the problems and all the hate it gets these days and told about the story of building the main factory.
During the early phases of construction, an American bomb was discovered out there from the early 40's: a 400 lb unexploded aerial bomb from World War II. The history of the brand is still a secret for us, because we always find out something new about it. It was originally built in 1938 as the factory to build the Kraft Durch Freude, this car transformed into the original Beetle. This town were the factory was building during the war was producing military vehicles like the Kubelwagen.
Because of all these military vehicles the city has become one of the most targeted places for Allied bombing raids, and that's how a huge part of the factory got destroyed. It's been said that the bomb was defused by explosives expert, and no one got injured.
