Probably all of us were convinced that the US plug-in vehicle sales increase every week, but this is not what actually happens. When Tesla Motor released its second-quarter deliveries, it turned out that the sale expectations were not fulfilled. Tesla considers that the huge truck sales spoil the statistics.
A week ago Tesla Motors announced that it delivered 14370 cars for the quarter. Among them there are 9,745 Model S sedans and 4,625 Model X SUVs. It was revealed that this delivery rate was the California-based automaker's lowest since the third quarter of 2014. It turned out that the overall US sales of diesels, hybrids and plug-ins fell 22 percent to about 34,700 units last month.
Tesla said that they have not only bad news for its customers and fans. Taking into account that the deliveries fell and it was revealed that they are lower than it was expected, we were waiting for better news of course. Tesla produced 18000 cars during the second quarter. This is almost half of those come during the last four weeks of the quarter.
