Car Repair fails - brilliance or stupidity?

There, I Fixed It! guys don't disappoint us and continue to cheer us inventing new ways of fixing things, including cars. We all know that a visit to a good mechanic garage can cost you a small fortune and sometimes try to be economy-wise and save some money, fixing the broken things ourselves. You can nail it or you can totally mess it up, depending on the level of your creativity and tinkering skills.

Thanks to many fail enthusiasts on the web, who enjoy sharing the photos of the unusual situations they've seen, the Internet is full of pictures of ridiculous car hacks, fails or quick fixes of automobiles that have gone wrong.

General Motors promised us other things but that’s how it all turned to be, even if it said it will invest $1 billion in U.S. factories now it announced to temporarily cut off 1,100 workers in May as its Lansing Delta Township assembly plant in Michigan shifts production to Tennessee. Last year it added 800 jobs at its spring hill, Tennessee plant to build the new version of GMC Acadia SUV.  The Lansing plant will continue building the Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse after it retools for a month. 17 Nov 2017

Trump administration gets urged by a bipartisan group of more than 70 members of the U.S. House of Representatives not to boost current production requirements on vehicle content for autos produced in the region under the North American Free Trade Agreement. Under the trade deal, at least 62.5 percent of the material in a car or light truck made in the region must be from North America to be able to enter the marketplace tariff-free.  The Trump administration has proposed raising the proportion of NAFTA content to 85 percent and securing 50 percent of the total for the U.S. The House...

  • Retailers up in October thanks to vehicle sales
    16 Nov 2017

U.S. retail sales unexpectedly rose in October as an increase in purchases of motor vehicles and a range of other goods offset a decline in demand for building materials, suggesting consumer spending remained fairly strong early in the fourth quarter. Retail sales increased 0.2 percent last month. Data for September was revised to show sales jumping 1.9 percent rather than the previously reported 1.6 percent advance. Retail sales increased 4.6 percent on an annual basis.  Economists forecast that retail sales would be unchanged in November. The slowdown from September's robust pa...
