An Aurora man placed his collection of 108 classic cars at auction. Harv Bish's vehicles will be sold Saturday with no reserve. The 85-year-old said he doesn't want to leave it to his children to care for them.
The auction will include a mini-monster truck, a 1957 Chevrolet fire truck, a 1968 Dodge Super Bee and a 1966 Ford Mustang with a retractable hardtop. There's also a 1960 Oldsmobile Super 88 and a 1908 Waltham.
"I'm not just a Ford man, a Chevy man, or a Dodge man," Bish said. "I just found something that caught my eye and tried to get it bought."
Collecting was continued also in retirement, after his son bought his business in 1999. His vehicles have been driven in parades and events, but one of them, a 2008 tornado, took down part of a building.
Bish said he hopes those who buy the cars will get as much out of them as he has. "I had a lot of fun with them," he said. "And now it's time for somebody else to do the same."
