The U.S. asked for resolution of its trade imbalance, full implementation of the existing FTA, and modification and amendment of the current deal. Takata Corp. filed for bankruptcy protection in Japan and the U.S., after the world’s biggest automotive recall scandal. The company will be bought by the U.S. supplier Key Safety for $1.59 billion. US May car sales finally revealed and surprisingly Ford Motor edged its archival and perennial first-place automaker General Motors sales when it came to sales last month. Although likely a temporary blip, Ford outsold crosstown rival GM by about 3,000 new cars and trucks in May, making it temporarily the largest automaker in the U.S. market.
