Electric car sales are rising in US, it seems like green cars are finally being appreciated as they deserve to be. This July was the 22nd consecutive month of rising hybrid car sales. It's been registered 19,252 sold green cars in the first six months of the year, which is a 31.9% increase. Sales have grown exponentially since the first months of 2011, when only 625 models were sold.
Nissan's head said the surge suggested the tipping point for mass EV uptake is close. It was the highest-selling purely electric model between January and June, with 2,336 units sold, but the best seller for hybrid cars was Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, with 5, 737 units. It was predicted that by 2020 electric car charging stations will outnumber petrol stations, the number of which Nissan forecasts will fall from 8,472 to 7,870. As electric car sales take off, the charging infrastructure is keeping pace and paving the way for convenient all-electric driving. Electric car sales still have miles to go before making a significant dent in the overall market, because they mad up only 1.4% of the 1,420,636 total vehicles registered from January to June.
Every country must think now of a better way to become leaders in electric vehicles uptake and manufacturing. If the government will help green cars evolve, than by 2025 every car and van on our doors might have zero emission.
