By asking the electrified car owners why they consider they have made a good choice by buying a green car, you will hear many reasons which will justify it. Most of the owners are pretty convinced their plug-in hybrid have all of the positive attributes they were going for. In 2015 the U.S. Purchased 17.39 million passenger cars and light trucks, 43,143 of them were plug-in hybrids, or 0.25%, and 71,105 were battery electric, which is 0.41%. Plug-in market share in June 2016 wasn't really better than two years ago, but it doesn't change the fact that people never regret buying a hybrid. Here are some reasons why plug-in cars can't recover for now.
Low gas prices- It's not a news for anyone that the gas has reached a low point which is of course great for diesel car owners, and another impulse to get a truck, SUV, and a larger more gas-consuming vehicle. GM's executives and media personnel were emphasizing gas is not as much a factor for those who wish to avoid gas altogether. They think people buy such vehicles not because of gas prices, but we are pretty convinced that it is one of the reasons.
Inventory Shortage- outside of California and a few other PEV hot spots, it is hard to find some good plug-in carts in stock. If you want a truck, no problem you can get one, but if you're thinking of getting a PEV than you might get upset because only 733 plug-in vehicles available in the Boston region since the 2016 years has started.
Inadvertent Obfuscation- I've heard these words a lot of time, people in our society are using them way too much even considering they don't even know the true. “If it clocks like a duck, walks like a duck, then it must be a duck?” No, it doesn't have to, just try yourself and you'll see the difference.
Multi-Billion Attack on EV's- there are many and varied messages on PEV benefits, people are telling stories about whether coal fuels them, or whether their carbon footprint is worse than for conventional cars. They would say everything to convince you on how bad these vehicles are, for example they are unprofitable, boring ugly and just as damaging and troublesome as petroleum, which is definitely a lie. We hope that it will not take us hundreds of years to realize what is important for our planet, and to get the culture where is has to be.
