If you are interested in U.S. auto world than you might have observed that Chevrolet Silverado was grabbing its biggest piece of the U.S. full-size pickup market since January in the first month of its ad campaign attacking the Ford F-150's aluminum body.
Even so, Ford wasn't going to back up or get worse its sales only started to rise since then. F-150 sales soared 40% in June from a year earlier, the segment share for the full F-series line jumped to the highest level in 17 months. Normally, the company doesn't tell what it obtained but not and this time, just to show that Chevrolet didn't hurt it, the company revealed these numbers. It seems like the battle of these two rivals will never end, the both are going to act like they are the winners till the end.
Many owners of F-150 who went from Chevrolet to Ford are considering this model is better, because of some important features they didn't have on their Silverado, for example a protective coating called spray-in bedliner. Silverado sales have dropped 3.7% in June amid a 9.7% gain for the segment, Chevy deems the campaign a success. About 10% of Silverado buyers in June previously owned an F-150 truck. Silverado accounted for 26.7% of full-size pickup sales last month which was up from 25.1% in May but down from 30.4% in June 2015. The F-series share rose from 32.5% a year ago and 37.5% in May to 38.1% in June.
