Audi is one of the brands that benefits from the strong SUV demand among car buyers. Audi's global vehicle sales rose 7.5 percent to 164,350 last month, boosted by gains in Europe, the U.S. and China and especially by a higher demand for its SUVs.
Audi's sales boss, Dietmar Voggenreiter, declared that the company continued to increase sales in all of the core regions, which reflects the sound balance of the business. SUV sales last month jumped 17 percent to 52,150, accounting for nearly a third of overall brand deliveries. Sales of the latest Q7 model were up 68 percent to 8,400. At the same time the demand for Audi's new-generation A4 rose 35 percent to 32,100.
Market sales indexes are quite stable. In Europe, sales increased 9 percent to 78,250, including a 12 percent surge to 28,844 in Audi's home market of Germany. The automaker's U.S. deliveries rose 6 percent to 17,801, while China volume was up 9 percent to 49,576. Four-month deliveries were up 4.9 percent to 620,100.
