    24 Oct 2016

The low margins of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and it high leverage position might have taken a toll on its stock in 2Q16. The company is now trading at massive YTD losses. FCAU reported adjusted EPS (earnings per share) of 0.45 euros in 2Q16, or $0.51, which is about 55% higher than its adjusted EPS in 2Q15.  This figure was also higher than the analysts’ estimate of 0.39 euros, or $0.43. However, on the day of its 2Q16 earnings release, the company’s stock fell 4.3%. Stagnation in the company’s 2Q16 revenues and shipments, along with concerns over the growth potenti...

  • Taking back Sunday sales in Colorado
    17 Oct 2016

Nevertheless, eliminating the Sunday prohibition on auto sales will be among dozens of recommendations headed to Colorado lawmakers in 2017. The recommendations are part of the annual review by the Department of Regulatory Agencies on state regulations set to sunset.  Prohibitions of the sale of motor vehicles on Sundays - often listed as one of Colorado's so-called “Blue Laws” - have already been eliminated by 34 states. The Co...

  • Market plateau elevated the role of fleet sales?
    16 Oct 2016

If you don't know how to raise your U.S. market share in 2016, here is the answer – you have to turbocharge fleet sales. Actually, that may be the only way in an increasingly competitive market that has hit a plateau after six years of growth. Fleet activity has defined overall sales winners and losers, according to industry sources that track bulk sales to rental companies and commercial and government buyers.   Through September, major players with double-digit fleet increases posted net sales gains. Those that cut back or stood pat on fleet lost overall volume. Analysts ...

  • The demand of trucks forces US manufacturers to close their factories
    11 Oct 2016

U.S. auto makers, responding to weaker demand for sedans and other passenger cars amid low gasoline prices, are rebalancing production at U.S. factories in favor of building more sport-utility vehicles and trucks.  General Motors Co. said it plans to add 650 hourly workers in Tennessee at a plant making the GMC Acadia and the Cadillac XT5, two midsize SUVs. Idled for three years after the auto maker’s 2009 bankruptcy, the Spring Hill, Tenn., factory is playing an increasingly important role in GM’s U.S. operations. The job additions come a day after Ford Motor Co. idled a...
