  • Lynk & Co delays sales launch for U.S. and Europe
    20 Apr 2017

China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group has delayed Lynk & CO's sales launch in Europe and the United States because it needs more time to establish a company-owned dealership network. Alain Visser, Lynk & CO's senior vice president of marketing and sales, said that they will start in Europe between the first quarter and the first half of 2019 and enter the U.S. some months later.   Originally, Lynk planned to debut in both markets in late 2018, starting with sales of the 01 compact crossover. Volvo Car Corp.’s sister brand also revealed this week that Berlin a...

  • Volvo reaching record sales on its 90th birthday
    14 Apr 2017

What else could be considered as the best present for Volvo on its 90th birthday?! If you don’t know yet than we’ll give you a hint, it’s something related with “sales”. Now, the answer is more visible right?! Well, Volvo wasn’t always here, it fought a lot for the right of being where it is now.   Since 2014 Volvo has annually set a new global sales record, a streak it expects to continue in 2017 by topping the current high of 534,332 that was reached last year. The automaker's profit margin has improved 6.1 percent in 2016 compared with a 4 p...

  • Even foreign automakers think of opening new plants in US
    29 Mar 2017

We knew that Donald Trump is somehow pressing U.S. automakers to build new factories and offer more jobs, but he may have to settle for plant overhauls and incremental job expansions such as Ford Motor Co.’s planned $1.2 billion investment in three Michigan factories that’s expected to create at least 100 jobs. Trump pushed automakers during a roundtable in Ypsilanti Township earlier this month for more U.S. plants, and in a speech to autoworkers the same day he said plants are coming back — other plants that were expected to be built in other countries are not being bui...

  • Orange County car sales hold steady in February
    24 Mar 2017

Orange County new vehicle sales mostly held steady in February, slipping a mere 0.3 percent in yet another sign the hot auto industry is at a plateau. Auto sales peaked in 2015 with a 8.7 percent gain overall compared with 2014, then leveled off in 2016 after six years of growth. Last year, local dealerships reported a sales decline of less than 1 percent, according to the Orange County Automobile Dealers Association, which tracks new vehicle registrations.  In January, post-holiday auto sales in the county decreased 4.2 percent. The group expects 2017 auto sale numbers to be similar...
