Fiat Chrysler is recalling 1.4 million Ram pickup trucks across the US to upgrade their tailgate locking mechanisms. After an investigation, the company discovered the power locking mechanisms in the tailgates of certain pickups have a small internal component that may break over time. This could cause the tailgate to unlatch and open while driving, spilling the cargo onto the road and potentially causing an accident. The company says it is not aware of any related injuries or accidents. Specifically, the recall affects certain Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups from model years 2015 t...
Ford is very proud of its smallest engine, the 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost. And it decided to bring it stateside in the Fiesta while offering it as the base engine in the EcoSport. Despite its size, it makes respectable power: 123 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque. Unfortunately, the engineering brilliance of this little mill has been greatly overshadowed by life-threatening issues. In fact, Ford may be facing a class-action lawsuit over this engine. Volvo thinks that these initiatives will help it transform its connection to consumers and help it develop new connected services for consumers and generate prem...

Small to mid-size dealer groups are selling their businesses to car-retail giants or investment firms. Dealers say that they need to get triple revenue in the next 5 years to offset shrinking margins and increasing competition from companies that did not exist a decade ago. The internet has made the field very tough, by making car prices more transparent for customers and giving them the opportunity to shop around. It has also ...
The company which is about to set a record fine of $1 billion imposed by two U.S. regulators for its risk management business is none other than Wells Fargo & Co. Lask week the company got a proposal from U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), to resolve probes into auto insurance and mortgage lending abuses at the third-largest U.S. bank. Wells has acknowledged that it charged customers for excessive auto insurance, a burdensome expense that caused some to see their cars repossessed after defaulting on loans. Wells Fa...
